The Abuja Leadership Centre at the University of Abuja is a TETFund Center of Excellence in Public Governance and Leadership. It was founded in January 2021. Its establishment is against the background of the crisis of public governance and leadership that is pervasive across Africa.
Our vision at the Abuja Leadership Center is to build a world-class research Centre, reputed for generating innovative perspectives, conceptual frameworks, and analytical tools.
Our goal is to train and nurture a new generation of Nigerian and African leadership equipped with understanding of the demands of the service of the public good and imbued with appropriate behavioral requisites of efficient leadership in public governance.
Philip Afaha is a Professor of Inter-Group Relations, and Director of the Institute for
Legislative Studies, University of Abuja. An IFRA Senior Research Fellow, he has
contributed over forty scholarly publications in reputable journals and books within and
outside Nigeria. His research interests include Inter-group Relations, Conflict Resolution
and Diplomatic Studies. He obtained his B.A and M.A in the University of Uyo and later
proceeded to the University of Abuja where he bagged a PhD in History in 2011.
